Had to click pause button a couple of times during that video ;-)

I saw parts of that live show back in NYC recently , and Denis Leary introduced her like a true older smitten Irishman ....humbly , simply and succintly

"here's Jewel , the finest looking woman that ever rocked on any soundstage "

she hasn't done half bad for a young girl from anchorage living out of van and only wanting to write poetry and songwriting ...and living on carrots and peanut butter.

She's a sweetie for sure ...Leary certainly thought so , and he's a hardened NYC comedic-actor.
Must be that innocent "country girl" that drew him <G>

( and hanging out close to her backstage up close, just before he introduced her ...and got hit with Cupid's "thunderbolt" )

Her "Standing Still Blues" is really a sweet, sweet tune .
She's certainly holding her own , and hope she keeps on .

;-)

PS: Was nice seeing her before perform live with Sarah Maclaughlin on her all woman tour a few years back when she was just rising up , which were some very nice times for music ....and Brittany and the other Disney graduate "Christina" were still selling pom poms and Barbie dolls . She held her own , young country girl pot bard and all .

Heard a song by this singer Patty Griffin a few months ago while traveling ...and it just clicked
with me , called :

"Blue Sky"

It's raw , and driving , and pushing hard....and then lets up into this chorus like a wave on the shore . There's release , and happiness and frustration , and sharing the last laugh on it all ...as she sings her way into a beyond ..into ----> "Blue Skies".

Then she picks up that driving forward , and higher and higher chant until you see her vanish flying on marching up into the blue.... and shes gone . Nice tune for driving on a sunny day through the country . She was nominated for grammy this year for contemp country album . I LOVED that tune ...but couldn't find out who did it , and didn't hear it again until today , stopped the car immediately and called the "KRUSH" radio station and got the name of it and her . She usually does more slow very soft country~ballad material , but "Blue Sky" really rocks and has this totally wild intro and marches on with the powers above following along.

* She played/opened up at the 1996 concert for Jewel, she gave just for the people on her mailing list 9called "JewelStock"0 of course ! ... and Patty made a few friends that night .

**Nice photo of Jewel here to hang near your computer , to remind you how you should "feel" when you want to make those winning trades! (Or sooth the hurt if you don't...oh man)
