What if some new GMO develops characteristics which were not discovered during pre-launch tests? This is the argument advanced by the Greens. But no reputable Scientific study accepts it, JJ. What we are doing here is what has been done by crossing plants before. It is no big deal except to the "If God wanted" crowd, and the Militants who are really against all progress, when you get down to the core of their beliefs. The reason GM was accepted so quickly here in the US is that there is no valid argument against it. Believe me, the Wackos here looked for one! And have published lie after lie trying to stop GM.
