Walmart demands a lot from vendors, but that is the norm in retail. When one retailer gets away with it, they all eventually try to do it. If you don't ship on time, be prepared to pay a hefty fine, airfreight, or lose the biz.
Just perform. It helps make vendors better, actually.

You have to be in a situation where you are not the slave and they are the master. That's the way you can control your destiny. If there is mutual need, the playing field is a bit more level. Go in kissing their butt to get their business, and you'll probably end up with something crammed up yours in the end. That's the same with any big retailer.

You're best if you go into a situation MAD - mutually assured destruction. In other words, you're both better off if you work together on something than if you don't. This allows you to achieve mutually assured success.
