<<the usual bashing and ranting of the Bush-haters you usually post>> My posts are either my own thoughts or links to a very wide range of sources -- you just don't like to hear the well-deserved criticism and outrage that people feel in the wake of the total fabrications that the White used as a pretext to invade a sovereign nation that did not pose a threat and did not attack us. The invasion was based on lies and spared no opportunity to bash the institutions that, feeble as they might be, are the fabric of international peace and international legitimacy. This war was based on pure propaganda. It will be very hard to believe what America says now. It will be easier to fan hatred and recruit terrorists. In the Bush vision of America, we sacrifice the lives of young men and women at the whim of faceless ideologues who believe they cannot be wrong because they are so deeply committed to their far right-wing view of the world. It is an America where boastful bureaucrats play at being Generals who like to show that they can make things happen just like CEOs in the private sector. It is an America where weak-minded politicians preferred to calculate the case for war by reflecting on their own political survival. It is an America where the White House proved all too willing to line the pockets of their corporate sponsors with the spoils of war. In sum, it is a "coalition of the arrogant" that is willing to put our troops on the battlefield and leave them stuck for years in a hostile country so the boys in Washington can walk with a little added swagger and some more cash in their pockets. Happy Memorial Day Bob. We can be proud of our troops, but we cannot be proud of our political leadership.
