Are things are pretty bad in SA?
It hasn't been too bad in Canada the last while except for the run of SARS in Toronto and just when we thought it was coming to an end 4 new cases popped up. Also we have the Mad Cow thing causing problems. It's hard to know how serious thing are sometimes, what with the media climbing all over thing and taking into account that they like to hype bad news.
The media and the advertising strike me as being two of the biggest detriments to our society today. They both work people into a frenzy that is somewhere beyond sensibility.
Some of the BS ads on TV are getting out of hand, to wit, GM is advertising a pick-up that is towing an Ice Breaker through thick ice that the Ice Breaker can't handle.
Give me a break.
It strikes me that all this crap is leading the people away from common sense and into a state of sensationalism that is getting weirder by the day.
If you plunked all this $hit and dropped it in the 50's,
they would think we had all gone nuts.
Taking notice that for the last number of years, in the movies and TV that the trend is toward blowing everything up. What is that all about? Makes me wonder if the collective sub-conscious would really like to see this thing we call society get blown away.
I think I'm getting closer to the cabin in the wood time again where all I'd have to listen to is the birds in the bush. Now there’s a line, "Birds in the Bush", just had visions of the cartoon scene of guy who is unconscious and bird circling his head. gg Like anyone we know??
Ooops! Wait a minute! I can't retreat to the wood. We have West Nile insects running around.
Oh well, best way to preserve mind and body is down at the local pub I guess. gg
So here's to you and here's to me, and if we ever should disagree, here's to me. Cheers

So much for Sat. morning rants.
