without question, innovation can drive demand....

i was questioning is the *quality* of the capital investment...

very few innovations are of the quality that spurs demand such that whole new markets are created.

it seems even the innovations that are extremely popular, such as digital mp3 players become commoditized relatively quickly..

when you raise the pc, automobile, you can add mobil and land based communication, jet travel...these are truly tectonic, plate shifting innovations that create new wealth which trickles down.

i think we are due for one of those...not more refinements of the same..helpful though they may be

renewable, clean energy seems to be the logical next step for creative destruction
