What matters more than the reasons given is whether the effort to eliminate Saddam has eliminated some evil from the world or some threats to the US.

The WMDs became a big deal when Bush decided to go to the UN. He had to use that reason to justify the liberation. It was obvious from the start that Iraq was number one on the list of "Things to Do" to accomplish our "Slum Clearance" of the Mid East.

Those that opposed this will make a big deal about the lack of WMDs and accuse the Admin of lying. Were they? We will never know for sure. I think they went went the Intel that backed up what they wanted to do.

But Saddam has proven to be such a monster that I don't think anyone will make any Political hay out of it. You notice that the Dem Candidates are leaving it alone.
