Thats a great piece LB.I can really relate to "how infantile management theory has become".

In the company I worked for I saw the "infantile management theory" kick in sometime in the late 80's.It started with weekend retreats to build and race milk carton boats to emphasize "teambuilding".Then it became fashionable to write "mission statements" and define "company culture".

Our mission statements and company culture became our "Moose".Everybody knew it was B.S. but you didn't dare say it.Fancy plaques and keychains and posters.Lapel pins and tie tacks that were worn to prove you were sucking up to it...Ugh!

Outside firms were hired to audit the employees views on management....everything but deal with real issues. This stuff is rampant across the U.S. in companies large and small.
