Heck, folks will sacrafice eating out and other money saving ways, if it means their kids get a nice toy for b-days, xmas and etc, etc, etc,....but I can't help but look around and see the many parents with young children right now, that are feeling he economic pinch, and using it to teach their children the importance of money. Many kiids nowadays are getting "essentials" for gifts, rather then to GI Joe Gift set, or whatever. For long term, I like the folks like WMT and HD, that are going to get customers and make $$'s in most any environment, short of the apocolypse. May not be the most exciting company and may not shoot up like some techs can, but for LTB&H, I am very comfortable with WMT and HD.....as long as I am well diversified, which I think I am <ggg>, in other sectors and other forms of investements. Not ignoring techs by any means, but looking at most of them differently. I think dell is a good LTB&H techy, as well as a few others, which I hold...but, much different market today then just a few years ago, thats for sure.....gotta be diverse and ready to play the trend(s) when and where they pop up......And regardless of econonmy, does anybody think anybody will get the 'niche' market that Harley Davidson does? Honda and etc, can come up with all the dupe harleys they can for less $'s, but harley holds a certain niche...one that people are ready and willing to pay for. I see it with my own eyes, and alot of times that is the best DD you can have......AAII looks great for a long term hold. Look at their numbers...excellent everywhere you look.....and people will always need "medicine"/ Pharmacuticals......
