Sarge, I was reminded of one of my favorite Shrub hyporcisy stories today. And there are those who wonder why Shrub is so anxious to "pay-off" Al Gonzalez with a Federal judgeship....Reason! Gonzalez can be credited with covering up one of Shrub's darkest little secrets, allowing him to run for the office of President.

Seems that in late 1996, while serving as Governor, Shrub got a summons to serve on a jury. Low and behold he was accepted to serve on the trial jury. The day of the trial and before the jury was to be sworn in, Shrub was out in the hallway with the other jury members and members of the public bragging about it being his civic duty to serve on a jury. And him being for the "common man" he was honored to be a part of the upcoming trial. All the while, as he was "glad-handing" and boasting of his civic duty before the cameras and public eye, guess where Al Gonzalez was? Seems he has sequestered the trial judge back in his chambers and guess what he was doing? Yep!!! He was pleading with the judge to NOT let his "glad-handing" lying bastard client out in the hallway serve on the jury. Yep!! All the while that Shrub was touting his civic duty out with the public, Gonzalez was working his "arse" off to keep him from doing what he "wanted" to do. NOT!! Seems the case that he had been selected to serve on involved a drunk driver. So guess what question would have been asked to any person sitting on the jury panel, and guess what Shrub would have had to admit to? Yep! He would have had to admit in 1996 that he was a convicted drunk driver. Boy!!! How special the Bush crowd is and to think he is against affirmative action for minorities. Him a convicted drunk driver and his wife kills another person and never charged or given as much as a ticket (show me one other person that can kill another person in this country and get away without any repercussions) ..talk about preferential treatment.
