I wonder why the haters are so opposed to my bringing these issues to the light of day. Let me share with you the history of one of my favorite Gang Members! When this individual was in grade school he described himself as a child who wanted to be “King of the hill, the grammar-school capo di capo.” Soon this Gang Member graduated from grade school and then high school. (And I don’t mean public schools, but those elitist schools for the privileged.) From there, blessed with being born with a “silver-spoon” in his mouth, he matriculated to the bucolic little village of Princeton, NJ, where he attended Princeton University. While attending class in those ivy laden walls, this capo “want-to-be” was given an assignment by a professor. Prof. Uwe Reinhardt, a renowned economist, had this student (and others) to “come up with a corporate accounting scheme to show how companies could legally commit fraud.” Professor Reinhardt later admitted that his young capo’s scheme was the most ingenious he had ever seen: “It was wholly corrupt.” After graduating from Princeton, the good life continues for this young capo. Seems his good fortune quickly moved beyond just having a mere “silver-spoon” net worth, but a rather tidy fortune in excess of $20 million dollars. And just where did he get this modest amount of money? Who says that not choosing the right parents could be a hindrance in your good fortune through life? Bloodlines count ever time! Merely look how we got ourselves a bumbling idiot as president of the United States of America. But as to our mystery Gang Member, he might have been the capo, but his father and brother might be thought of as the Don’s in this fleecing of the American public. For sure, they are merely “alleged” criminal activities that they undertook, but whether alleged or truthful, they sure made them rich at the expense of all citizens of this country. Let me repeat! They were merely accused of “alleged” criminal activities, and this mystery gang member will only tell you that he doesn’t even know how much stock he owns in his father’s and brother’s company that fell under this scrutiny and cloak of suspicion. But to make some comparisons to the end results, I’m reminded of the gentlemen in California that was sentenced to life in prison under the three strikes law, and this was done because he stole a sandwich. (We common folks call this food.) Now juxtapose this life sentence, to the fact that the father’s company agreed last year to refund a mere $1.7 Billion (let me repeat $1.7 Billion) to settle this long standing allegation of fraud. And just who was this fraud against? Was it by them defrauding IBM? Was it by defrauding Enron? Was it against WorldCom? Hell, no! It was against YOU, the taxpayers of this country and the Medicare program that you want someday to be there to assist you during retirement. But sure! They weren’t guilty of anything…but for sure our mystery gang member has his $20million dollar trust fund, and his father and brother have theirs and our California friend sits in Folsom for life. But hey! At least he won’t need Medicare funds while there! And just who is this mystery person! Well, it is only the Republican Senate leader, Bill Frist. The very individual that now rails against the Medicare system and insist that it must be modernize. Damn! I guess having your father’s company to refund $1.7 Billion of taxpayer’s money would even piss me off!
