I don't know the depth of the problem at Cisco nor do I know if this ongoing. Furthermore, as a percentage of gross revenues, I suspect it is not very significant. But if, as you intimate, a company is willing to stretch the ethical envelope one one place... well you know the rest of the story.

what about companies that hide their marketing costs under the guise of strategic investments?? fail to expense massive options costs?? insist that proforma is somehow a legitimate method of accounting?? (how many times do you have to post the same 1 time charges before it's considered a recurring, operational expense?!?)
