Well, sigh, you misunderstood my post. I simply offered a supporting post, not a critical post.

Sorry I misunderstood you... I saw the "but" and inferred that you believed I had somehow not included the issues you referred to somehow...

Milgram's work, though controversial, really provides some critical insight into how human beings react to the stressful situation you mention.. And that stress doesn't even have to be as brutal as his experiment detailed.. Human beings are put through similar stresses in their everyday lives, either work or through family and social ties..

It's about the human desire to conform and not be seen as different from others. To seek acceptance from others, either peers or authority figures in our lives.

Which is why all organizations need to have ombudsmen and inspectors general who provide an independent outlet for achieving that approval when we're being placed in positions contrary to our own moral values.

Accountability is the keystone of civilization.. to our neighbors, our shareholders, our citizens, and to ourselves.

To never permit powerful individuals to be able to coerce actions from others that are harmful to that society as a whole...
