<<As for WMDs being the reason we "alienated ourselves" from our "longstanding allies", well it takes two to tango, and if you think M. Chirac acted as he did for the reason of WMDs, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you. Ever look at TotalFinaElf's Iraqi contracts? Worthless paper now, I'm glad to report.>>

Our failure to convince the international community to support a case for war with Iraq was due to many factors Nadine, not just the ambiguity within the evidence for WMDs and links to Al-Qaeda. Obviously the French and much more so the Russians had financial reasons to object however there's also a thing called international law. A pre-emptive non UN sanctioned strike by the world's superpower on a nation that posed an "imminent" threat (still to be proven) to it's national security was the issue! Iran poses a much greater threat to stability in the ME yet we isolate a country that was crippled financially from years of UN sanctions, was defanged to the point where Friedman (AEI) called them the Flinstones, was contained between 2 no fly zones from which air strikes were made on a regular basis. Why?!?!?!? I have my own answer to this question and events are unfolding as we speak to back them up.

There are hidden agendas behind this invasion Nadine and if you don't believe that I'll sell you that bridge in Brooklyn back.....
