Saddam was taken out for political and humanitarian reasons. He never was a threat to vital interests of the US.

Makes Hitler look like a Sunday school teacher. As bad as SH was, his regime was still better for women than that radical muslim states run by the Clerics, much better in fact. In many ways, Iraq was better for women than Saudi Arabia. The climate for women will deteriorate rapidly if the Chi-ite (sp?) clerics are able to rise to power in the vacuum the west has left over there. The reason for going into iraq was weapons, it was always that, not a humanitarian cause- because after all there are far worse humanitarian crises in the world, and you have to look at how many lives are taken during the war itself, PLUS the nature of suffering in the country. Even Bill O'Reilly the conservative hero has stated that somebody should be fired in the Bush administration for screwing up on the weapons threat. And ask yourself, the next time the US wants to go into a country that TRULY has a definitive threat of weapons, will the world support us? I doubt it, they didn't this time and they were right. I supported this war on false pretenses (VERY false pretenses) and I blame the idiots in the Bush admin for selling the world a bill of goods that was false.
