FWIW I posted an article about foreign affairs written by a self-professed liberal which described liberals as builders and conservatives as defenders. However, the article had some criticisms of liberals. So some of the thread police liberals felt attacked from the right, took exception, claimed the author was no liberal of theirs, etc. They jumped on one sentence of mine (which was an aside) and did not comment on the substance that one of their own offered. It was a weak display for such a lofty header to a thread. Thought I'd insulted Zeus without knowing it--gggggg. I've seen it before. I rarely write, but I have a banning to brag about....been banned from a "tolerant, open-minded" liberal's thread. But, as Emerson said, "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds." Now that I know that, I'm striving to be less consistent, and ask it less of others.
