Damn! Simon Cao's vision is the "network is the computer", but all you see is a switch?

When it comes to UTSI, I think it's safe to say CSCO will be just fine.

Looks like the primary technology UTSI is selling is their PAS technology to the Chinese that can't afford GSM or CDMA. But hey, if roaming is riding your donkey to the end of the street, the technology is fine and cheap. It's perfect for that economic environment.

On the other hand, the access market is a great place to be...but it's not exactly CORV's or CSCO's forte.

BTW, the hardware isn't going away anytime soon. However, there is increasingly, and will continue to be, a great market/demand for killer software for QOS and dynamic provisioning.

As far as "getting it", CORV has it (before anyone else) in BRW. What does UTSI have to show for itself in the all optical long haul? Where are they in relation to O-O-O? Have you seen AVNX's ROADM or their PowerExchanger(TM) Power Balanced OADM? Guess what...you can't do it with only software, but their software component is killer...

Isn't UTSI's big partner in China ZTE...the company that just admitted to stealing CSCO's IP. Now why would a close business partner of UTSI have to go out and steal CSCO's intellectual property, when UTSI is the all-encompassing solution you say it is????????? If that's what you are referring to as the great threat to CSCO (theft), then I agree 100%.

Have a great day!

Music download becomes hot again. Is VOD (Video on Demand) the next killer application?

Well, people still communicate, and $400 ml cash and 18000 miles optical network from BDW acquisition might be worth something, too.

Go ahead short it.
