I've always been a tad unimpressed with SI's performance, especially on dialup, but this is different. This isn't a problem of sending 3-4 times the characters necessary to produce the screen. There are definitely some problems here and there that are a result of the move. Possibly routines still trying to make calls to routines in Seattle? Dunno. Frequently, PM's are VERY slow to post. I've also had the homepage stay blank on me a number of times and nothing happens until I do a Reload. That'll be part of the beauty of the database migration and the ASP rewrite. I'll be writing each page from scratch, which means I can not only do my anal-retentive obsessive bit with sending the fewest characters possible over the wires, but will be sure I'm making calls only to the local databases.
