It'll reach a point where it will become unbearable for European economies. Ok, strong Euro is good to build the 10 new EU members: transport infrastructure, environment infrastrcuture, etc etc.

But it reaches a point that it will start hurting real good. My take is that the policy makers will make the strong Euro drill into populace's heads the need for structural reforms.

And now this one:

Mr. Bush said last week. "We believe the more money people have in their pockets, the more likely it is somebody is going to be able to find work in America." (NY Times)

Hi Jay - are you effectively short JPM ? While it is believed they had massive exposrue on gold carry trades, they have had a number of YEARS to unwind and reduce those postitions since they became less profitable & possibily unwise.

I expect that JPM has VERY large long Euro / Short dollar positions, and will also make lots of money just dealing currency derivaties.

I was long JPM about 4 months ago, and made a little money. I would be long today, if I needed to buy a US bank
stock, and did not think UTEs and NG were better deals.

I think JPM will report big profit numbers from the Euro trades....

Best Regards, energyplay
