iHub's model is completely different in that the power of any "moderator/creator" is both weak and pitiful comparied to an Si Moderated thread person.

Doug, your post was enlightening. Like Kerry, the moderated threads (and horror stories about them) kept me away from posting on iHub in its early days (not to mention none of the "soap operas" I follow migrated over there), so I admit I speak from theory, not practice. So, what you are saying is that Bob has turned the moderator concept into an attempt to get someone on a thread to take charge of putting people in line prior to him being called in to actually take action. That's actually pretty clever, but I still think just the perception of being "ruled" by someone just because he got there first (as regards a stock specific thread) is enough to give people like me pause based on the fact I spend so much time on threads that are extremely polarized where I am the minority opinion.
