Why is that UFB...the SPX was down a couple percent, but the gold market was up a tad. I personally got "whacked" for all of a quarter percent today, but I got lots of hedges and lots of caysh.....

Not very surprising about BEARX.

Mixture of shorts, puts, and gold stocks acts differently on different days--somewhat randomly.

The important thing is that Tice does stick to an announced program, so that over a year or more the fund does what it claims to do. It's up to the investor to decide if that's what he or she wants.

People used to fault Tice for not catching every one-month movement of the markets, especially when the insanity came on strong 1998-1999.
