My Lexus lease is going back in August. It retails 15% to 20% below residual but the financing co. won't let me buy it below their stated residual price. The new models would practically be competing in price with a 3 year old used car for God's sake. As a consequence lease business is giving way to sale business and the life cycle of car ownership is being pushed out with or with the gimmicks now marketed.
