you are mixing apples and oranges.

Firstly , i have a deep love and respect for both apples and oranges , don't mind mixing them , and do not usually curse the trees that produce them ...

I read that fellow's apology and found that all through it are the statements of "he thinks" , "I believe" , "that Jesus hints at " and "in my opinion " . Stating firstly , secondly and thirdly and thusly follows ..so forth and so on . While jumping to quite a few conclusions of his own , and separating some few scant verses to display for his "proof". I think the fellow has more of some ax to grind than he does with sharing any true revelation .

found not very much original in this kind of apologetics , and doubt any others will besides those in this fellow's own choir. Usually I can tell this by the selection of the verses, and especially when one has to reference all the way back to Moses and the Ten Commandments to prove the validity of a God who commands obedience , and then finds his own Prophet and deliverer turn immediately into a murderer based on this stiff-backed belief and condemnation of simple people leading simple lives . Much of what is attributed to the old Testament was borrowed by the older Hebrews themselves and not the least original.

And then you have entire cities destroyed and people were massacred and decimated by Moses and his brother . I find not the slightest example of God's love shining thru these actions . One gets all one needs from certain acts and speeches of the Master in the garden before and during his arrest , in the Last Supper , before on the mount , and when it is all finished and the work completed .... during his crucifixion. Later day apologetics by laymen and clerics and their interpretations are what fall short greg . As the world grows smaller and habitats for humanity grow less abundant , people will learn eventually to assuage their differences and cooperate.

The mark of a true Christian, imo, would find him not so caught up in doctrinal debates that lead to aggressive discrimination , condemnation and segregation , but thru genuine acts of charity , compassion , understanding and reconciliation for , by and between people in the living body and spirit of the one who died on the cross, and lived so simply and ascetically.

I was not ignoring or going beyond any passages greg , but going deeper into them , and provided the scripture to intimate those conclusions here for you to reference or ignore ..they are quite clearly powerful statements, and self-explanatory without the need for apologists' axes grinding down on them. Just acknowledging them would suffice.
