Dennis,
looks like utilities will be a good bet though.

Short term, utilities look good.
I would watch the charts and bail when any of them drop under their 200 day moving average (which may be in months or a few years out).
I used to track the earnings and dividends of the $UTIL utilities index. Between 1988 and 2000 (even before ENRON), the earnings and dividends had actually decreased. In 1988, Utilities had the reputation of being safe investments for your grandparents. I think deregulation threw that out the window. Now it seems to me to be more of a cyclical investment than a buy and hold forever.
Just wanted to share my outdated insights.
