But in this case, the "suits" happen to be the programmers as well--and SIBob was already knowledgeable about the problems of SI's database--he has expounded on them quite a bit over the past couple of years since he left.

Bob,

Most of the credit goes to John Busby and a number of people at InfoSpace who put a lot of effort into ensuring that the move could happen as painlessly as possible. They did an excellent job! And Ron, the guy who did all the real work of setting it up in KC, did such a beautiful job that SI's cabinet is being used at the ISP as an example of how it's supposed to be done. I took some pictures of it and will post them on iHub later, since we can't embed graphics in messages here. Yet. <g>

Sam, the previous suits weren't programmers. Typical big-company problem. The current suit happens to be a programmer and is at the very early stages of a very large project with this site. Very few visible changes will be made in the coming few months because my technical focus (in addition to the other operational aspects of it as a business) for the foreseeable future will be almost exclusively backend stuff. We're changing the basement of an existing house. Not easy, but if it's pulled off with few "changes" being noticed, it'll mean we did well.
