Why do they all do it? Because it works, and we let them get away with it by rewarding and justifying and rationalizing all their crap. Precisely. As we have sown, so are we reaping. Several people on this board were incredulous when I said, truthfully, that I had never lied about sexual matters. They assume that everybody lies. They apparently don't know a single person who is truthful. And these are educated people who should be social leaders. When they have no respect for honesty, is it any wonder we elect people who also have no respect for honesty? And they they complain. Faugh. Look in the mirror, folks.
