Thankyou very clear summary. I am looking for the article in the Globe which triggered the interview I alluded to. It brought out that Wolfowitz is very much a disciple of this idea being very much concerned that liberal thinking was weakening America and has striven to to make America stronger by making his views the country's policy. To paraphrase a caller this is all well and good if it is for what the citizenry believe is a "good purpose" but good purposes are very dangerous to wit : Hitler, Saddam. However, I dont think the current Wolfowitz policy would have been that successful had not America felt threatened after 9/11. Also said in another way I think that the majority in the US also feel: "Whats the point the point in being de facto the strongest "Nation in the World" and acting like a "Wee Timorous Mousie" when we are being threatened and attacked.
IMHO These are what have led us to where we are, but I think there should be more open discussion. Thanks again Jaunatxo
