The dividends are monthly and only amount to 3.5 cents. Hard to see anyone paying commissions over an amount equal to 0.7% of the stock price.

In any case, the ex-date was yesterday, not today, and the move down today at one point was 39 cents, or more than ten times the amount of the dividend.

In addition to what I have already pointed out, there is the memory of what did happen to the stock price when they started to make a rights offer last year.
