? How on Earth do my personal views on what ADULTS do have any bearing on my profession. You apparently are unable to understand that people, in order to get along, need to stay out of each other's private business in a multicultural and multireligious society. We're not just dealing with Biblical traditions- Eastern religions are some of the fast growing religions now- and they don't have the same moral traditions. What I do for a living has zip zilch and nada to do with any of that- same if I was a nurse, or a fireperson, or an engineer. My personal views on staying out of the bedrooms of adults, are not something that comes up in my job. I can't think of any subject area where it WOULD come up (and just as I keep my views out of the class, I'd like those Christian messianics out of it too). Teachers are allowed to be libertarians, whether you "get" that or not. It's still a semi-free country- until the fascist right wingers make it a fascist state- going into bedrooms here, in order to enforce morality. Allowing people to run their own lives seems to me to be the MOST moral way to live. Making people unhappy, just because you don't like how they have sex, seems to me to be one of the most twisted, most immoral thing a person could do with their time. Now I wouldn't make any laws forbidding people from making other people unhappy with their disapproval (I'm fairly libertarian- even for the repressive folk), you can do that on your own time- protest against gays or people into bestiality, or people who swing, or people who like porn, whatever- but don't use the machinery of the state for something so stupid. (I am rolf about the line of "admitting" to being a teacher. YOU make it sound like a crime. I revel in being a teacher. I shout it from the roof tops. I LOVE it. And I love being a liberal libertarian who doesn't have a care in the world about what my neighbors are doing in their beds together (assuming they are all consenting adults/or animals)
