Darleen > Surfs eventually seek freedom

Sounds like a slogan for the boys on Durban beach!

I presume you mean "serfs" (slaves). And by that you mean us. As far as I know, the human was always a slave --- to something, someone or even an idea. In fact, I think most people hate being free --- the minute they are, they tie themselves up somewhere, somehow.

And, indeed, the idea of being enslaved is very much in the mind of the individual. Some feel they are enslaved to their spouse and their children, others accept their responsibilities with joy.

I regard myself as one of the freest people anywhere and yet I spend most of my time at home. My freedom is in my mind. Perhaps I owe a lot of my own personal approach to this book by Harry Browne which I read over 20 years ago and which I used to read like a bible. I'm sure it would please him to hear that.

One can't free those who don't want to be but one can free oneself.
