Geez, Jon. Why don't you just go start another one and show me how it's done. <ng>

Oh, and I'm just a wee bit more well-versed in SQL than to do searches as a 'LIKE %word%' thing. LOL What you described is pretty much how SQL Server's built-in full-text indexing works. It's still a bear when it's dealing with all the words that can be found in 19 million records.

Now, of course, there are snags when undertaking this kind of move. The fact that the site came back up Saturday afternoon and is quite functional isn't something to be lightly dismissed. Are there problems? Yep. Is slowness of parts of the site a problem? Yes. A biggie, IMO. But not earth-shattering. Is Search down? Yep. And it won't be coming back up immediately. Don't let the fact that I used so few words to answer that question lead you to think I don't consider that a very big deal. I do.

However, the site is quite intact and quite functional and things will be fixed and changes made on MY schedule; not yours. As important as PM-slowness and Search are to me, there are larger priorities ahead of them that haven't been cleared off my list yet.

Edit: Who's yer Grub-Daddy?
