You miss the point. Various elements agreed that <font color=red>if </font> Iraq had WMDs then it would be a reason to consider intervention. The true monstrosity of this approach is evident when you realize that the neocon cabel was lying about the urgency of the threat and even the very existence of it. There were no WMDs and the administration knew it, but went beyond keeping this fact hidden, they actively lied to Congress, the UN, and the American public (probably the british too).
