Not since 1995 at the latest. You might as well be complaining about the actions of Nebuchadnezzar. There is no surprise that Saddam resisted inspection, but there is every evidence that the inspection was sucessfull and that Iraq was just waiting for the sanctions to expire.

It's easy to point out that Saddam, like all dictators, was a ruthless fellow to some of his subjects. That was never in dispute. The was was sold and started on the premise that he was a threat to others, in particular a threat to the United States. That is what has been shown to be false, and furthermore that the PNAC crowd knew it was false.

I can hardly believe that you are floating the idea that there were no WMDs with a straight face.
Actually it's with a sad and disgusted face.
