You forget. The cheif says PE is a made up word with no meaning. Wallstreet is about herds and nothing more. The fact that actual companies are somehow related to the pieces of paper called "stock" is inconsequential. Only when the first guy decides he has made enough and fears losing it does the bidding for worthless paper stop. This entire mechanism is run by so many crooks now, it's impossible to tell who is who. I remain, SOROS
