If its true and honest and well intentioned I don't see it as a manipulation. "Manipulative" implies deviousness and dishonesty. This is about starting a war where lives will be lost and much money spent. To expect anything less than absolute honesty is selling yourself short. I said "If you think...are all good reasons...all of them are true..." That is honesty. You can argue that my original assumptions where wrong (in fact you have if not directly in response to them), but given those assumptions there is nothing manipulative or dishonest about how the situation was handled.
