And you don't get the pay increases that you were expecting, in fact your pay has decreased (deflation after all.

So you actually have less to pay for all the other stuff the price of which has gone down.

Not too big of a problem though because it only affects debtors.

Or if you are a company and you have debt but revenues and income are down because of inflation. Not too big of a problem though because it only affects companies with debt.

Or you are a country. And you have lots of debt. Then tax revenues go down because personal and corporate income go down.

Good thing nobody has any debt.

ild, the argument lost credibility in the very first example. Computer cos. and retailers have benefitted from lower pc prices. Really! For some reason, I don't think Compaq, Hewlett, Gateway, IBM, Compuserve, CompUSA, or any of the wholesalers would agree. Even Dell wouldn't look so hot if they had real accountants. <g>
