Yes, that should be the case. One attendee noted:

"Today there were only industry sponsored educational sessions. But we did get the abstract books with study results at the time of abstract submission."

The deadline for submission of abstracts to the current conference was Dec 20, 2002. I have a feeling that the preliminary ones often serve as no more than "place-holders" for the real thing. For cancer clinical trials half a year can make a quite a big difference, both as far as survival is concerned as well as for the numbers of evaluated patients.
