WMD, the humanitarian issue, and terrorist involvement, as well as other things. The reality is that the war was about eliminating terrorist threats, and it is a fact that when all is said and done, this will have been accomplished. There were no lies; there were no misrepresentations. Are you trying to convince yourself, or us? If its us, personally I wouldn't rely on your interpretation of world events......I know your bias. There's a guy from the Brookings Institute....I think his last name is Hanlon. He regularly comments both for FOX and CNBC.......they use him because he tells it like it is without any partisan BS. Tonite, his take on the WMD issue was that he doesn't think Bush intentionally lied although it was still a possibility. However, he knew of some intelligence reports that did report that Saddam still had some WMD. And he wasn't buying the notion that Iraq is a big country and it will take a while to find them........he believes something should have popped up by now. His bottom line was that the world was lead to believe that Saddam was sitting on an arsenal of WMD and that that was our PRIMARY and MOST COMPELLING reason for going to war; and in their absence, Bush and the US, in that order, have lost a lot of credibility. He went on to say that this issue may prove to haunt us for a long time. Soooooooo.......your problem isn't convincing the Dems/liberals [although it should be], but rather the rest of the world.......they ain't buying what you're selling. Bush has effectively marginalized Arafat and appears to be headed toward a true Palestinian peace. I'm not sure what you're complaining about. Get back to me when the date for Palestine's independence has been set and the party planners are doing their thing.
