Weimar Whiners By JAMES TRAUB - NEW YORK TIMES MAGAZINE This is, of course, classic Traub style as well as "what else can we find to beat up on the left" style. The key element in the style is to find someone(s) on the left who says some reasonably outrageous things, then, quickly, while no one is looking, generalize those comments to "the left." Suddenly everyone to the left of Bill Frist is now assumed to be a certified political wacko. It's as if someone took the classic Fallwell and Robertson quotes just after 9-11 and said something on the order of, look how daffy everyone to the right of Ted Kennedy is. Not only is this bad stuff, I fear it will get worse well before it gets better.
