What impact will the upcoming 2004 US election have on the equity market in the next 12 to 18 months? Considering that most American middle class (and above) has most of their retirement funds in the stock market, it should be high priority to raise the value of the portfolios (which translate to the feel good psyche as well) in order to assure re-election of the present administration. That is, in case the high pitched fervors of American patriotism and fear propaganda would subside within the next 18 months. A status quo in the economy and employment with a touch of terrorist paranoia would do the job for easy reelection. But I think it will take a little more than that. There are ways to influence (sway) the stock market for a short duration.

Jay, congratulations on a good bunch of trades. Thanks for improving the liquidity of QUALCOMM stock and supporting the QCOM futures industry. Having made a profit of good proportions, I dare say you'll be tempted to ride the wave into the future. I'm looking forwards to the day when you buy a CDMA device with a QUALCOMM ASIC driving it.

I guess it'll be another couple of years before that happens.
