<Did that ever happen to you?>

Sounds like you had it wired through hole #12. I had a shot two years ago near the root of a tree. It was in a tournament and I didn't want to take an "unplayable" for a stroke. CLANG!..I smacked it and the root stopped the clubhead cold. The ball flight was fine, but my wrist was shot. I finished the round but it was sore for three weeks.

We are getting a huge amount or rain...a deluge. We played yesterday at noon and made it through 16 holes before a light rain began. Was playing with A18 and two of his buddies...they included the old man which was nice of them.

Gotta take Lucille for a walk in the woods...she's dying to get out and run even though it's raining.

I did get your message about the big dig.....I have been watching it for years going to the airport everyweek for the past 10 years (don't go now). You can drive in the Mass Pike , through the Ted and get directly to Logan. From the expressway south, everything is underground. They have not dismantled the elevated expressway or MBTA. The next great war will be the use of the space it creates on the surface. There are plans for parks, walkways, new harborside hotels etc. From an engineering perspective, what they have accomplished is simply a marvel. They are a couple billion over budget (I really don't care). The Zakim bridge as you enter Boston from the north is breathtaking! I've driven through the Ted and through the new underground 93 heading noth. I think it will all be worth it. There were times getting home of Thursday night when traffic was totally jammed...all the Boston Coach guys knew the short cuts and all the progress reports which was really cool.

Hope your wrist heals quickly...lots of golf this year!
