Maybe I'd get what McKay was doing if I'd paid more attention, but it sure doesn't make sense on the face of it. There was no way Orchard could have won -- the party made sure of that by stacking the convention with ex officio delegates. Was McKay trying to suck up to Orchard's constituency, maybe as a sort of foot-in-the-door to reviving support on the Prairies? What he has succeeded in doing is showing that it's business as usual in the Conservative Party.
