I once met a girl who was sure that she knew the capitals of most of the states. She thought that Los Angeles was the capital of California, that NYC was the capital of New York, that Baltimore was the capital of Maryland, that Dallas was the capital of Texas, and so on. Of course, it made sense for her to assume that the largest and best publicized cities in various states were the capital, but it is rarely true, in fact (Boston is one exception). Even when I documented her error, she couldn't believe she was wrong, it didn't make sense to her. You remind me very much of her.......
