That may be the explanation. At least you tried. It is possible that there are other factors, though. For example, capitalists tend to anti- competitive practices in order to increase predictability, if they can get away with it, such as the formation of cartels and pricing agreements. What if it is the case that the Swiss have a lot of such informal collusion, and that the main effect of having a market economy with socialist elements in Sweden was to have the government broker such practices? On the one hand, both would experience less economic efficiency, but on the other, since both have been historically neutral, they avoided the devastation of World War II, and had to carry far less of a defense burden than the United States.......
