Your point is not factual. In November 1947, Israel accepted the UN partition borders. The Arabs did not, and started a war. In May 1948 the new state was in the middle of that war, which would determine its very existence and its boundaries. The truce talks of 1949 established the boundaries of Israel - now called the Green Line - and Israel recognized its boundaries as that line. The Arab states refused to recognize the boundaries and retained the right to destroy Israel. This was followed by wars in 1956, 1967 and 1973. Israel survived, but the Arab states still refused to recognize either Israel's existence or its boundaries. Only when Sadat made peace in 1979 did the first Arab state recognize the existence of Israel inside the 1949 borders.
