Both sides know, in advance, that most of the dead, using those tactics, will be non-combatants.

If you see no difference between aiming at enemy combatants (and that's most of the Palestinian dead) and blowing up grandmothers with baby carriages at bus stops, then it's no use to talk to you. No doubt you think that the Israelis should sit with hands folded, bury their dead, and give the terrorists whatever they are demanding. Let us know if Al Qaeda ever strikes near you and we'll see how you feel about it then.

Wouldn't you say the suicide bombers know that ALL of the dead will be non-combantants? Or are they searching for military targets in buses, restaurants, grocery stores?

And, no, I don't see a whole lot of difference between Israeli helicopter
gunships rocketting Palestinians (targetted assassinations)in crowded urban
areas, and Palestinian suicide bombers. Both sides know, in advance, that
most of the dead, using those tactics, will be non-combatants.

If you don't see a difference, that's sad.

I don't approve of either one, personally. But the Israelis are at least going after military targets. The Palenistinians are deliberately targeting civilian populations with no military significance. For the Israelis, the objective is to kill specific persons, and any other deaths are regretted. For the suicide bombers, the more innocent people they kill, the better.

If you don't see a difference here, I feel sorry for you.

That's because you know very little about how the gunships establish their targets.

The only "martyrs" that ever impressed me with their moral stance were the Buddhist monks who set themselves aflame--and no one else--during the Vietnam conflict. The Palestinians suicide bombers would be seen as true martyrs instead of deranged murderers if they would adopt that kind of tactic instead of the indefensible one they routinely use.
