Since when is stating an opinion *bashing*???

It seems this thread harshly criticizes any opinion that is not bullish. John may be more articulate than most, but he doesn't seem to have an irrational bias.

Perhaps since QCOM (and the market) often does not trade based on logic, John's opinion could be discounted, but it doesn't seem as though it is simply designed to malign the stock.

If you can read financial statements, think logically, and discuss rationally, then you're not allowed to post your opinions? That doesn't sound like a very interesting discussion forum. In fact, that sounds more like the "Gulag's five year plan" discussion thread--you can post whatever you like, just don't say anything that could be interpreted as negative, comrade--and that means YOU!

Sorry you see it that way.

I'm not "Bashing" QCOm.

I'm merely suggesting that QCOM is a lousy investment. And mostly, since I have held the perception that the party's over (which hasn't been forever, and likely won't be forever), by and large it's been a lousy investment. Either on an absolute basis ($160 down to $33 kinda sucks), or relative to other popular tech stocks like Cisco or Intel. Heck, I even think NT has QCOM beat when it comes to return potential from here.

And there's a reasonable body of evidence by now that despite an unpopular stand, I'm not entirely clueless.

But instead you choose to attack me personally, as if I am somehow evil for holding an opinion that has turned out, while I have held it and defended it and been reviled for holding it, to have been reasonably close to the mark. Trust me, I long for the days when I can post my thoughts to message boards and not attract some inbuilt "shoot the messenger" knee jerk reaction. But I'm not going to adjust my opinion based on how popular it is.

Perhaps it's you who should consult professional help. Denial is the third of four stages of coping with the loss of a loved one.

Sincerely,
John

Trevor- Funny, some people who spend a lot of time here "bashing" QCOM or should I say trying to help us see the light and make statements such as -

"So I label QCOM (not Qualcomm) as a less than attractive investment compared to alternatives available to me at the moment. I get better risk-weighted returns on other investments" -

have yet to my knowledge provided us with a name(s) of any of these "alternatives" (public traded companies).

Still looking for an alternative- jim
