James, I'm not going to get involved with you in the Palestinian/Israel polemic.

My position on the subject is well-known on this thread and I have stated frequently that I am firmly in favor of peace in terms of the Oslo and Camp David Accords. Of course, I know there is as much chance of that happening as that I can fly to the moon.

Nevertheless, to make my position clear, what I would like to see is that Israel returns to the pre-1967 boundaries and gives back ALL the occupied West Bank territory, plus

Israel gives back the Western half of Jerusalem.

I think the situation with the Golan Heights can be negotiated between Israel and Syria.

I am not in favor of the "rights of return" of those Palestinians who were born in what is now Israel to reclaim their land.

Since the IDF has killed and injured Palestinians in the ratio of 3 Palestinians for every Israeli killed and injured by suicide bombs, it's perfectly clear that the violence tit-for-tat has been taken into account --- and in Israel's favor.
