I uninstalled yahoo messanger, did not fix the problem. system restore was successful per XP message, but window continued to freeze up when loading. (can load in safe mode).

I took the computer to the shop where i had my computer built 2 1/2 years ago. they tried to re-install window xp, but when they got to install the drivers back, window froze up again. so the technician said he started to pull out hardware components one by one to see what was causing problem. it was the pci video card turned bad (i had 2 video cards to support 2 monitors, one agp card on motherboard slot, the other is a pci card on an extra slot.)

we decided to replace the good agp card with a dual heads matrux G450 card, rather than replacing the pci card, as even we can find pci cards, they are kind of outdated.

because the technician has copied my hard drive to another disk, once he replaced the video card, he just copied the whole disk back, and everything seems working again.

so essentially we only replaced a bad video card, we did not re-install window, and we did not address ultra 100 problem.

The details of Ultra 100 problem is : when booting up the system, there are times Ultra 100 failed to load, and system would refuse to boot, telling me i need system disk. I found that i can turn the power supply off and then back on (almost like a hot reboot ?), the system then would boot up fine. No one so far can explain why is that.
