Interesting John.... If the US really wanted to make these (or any countries for that matter) wouldn't it have happened in the last 50 years? I would really be interested to hear exactly how and what the US could do to have these two countries "be peaceful" and stop the terrorism from both sides. Of course it can. Just as it has a great deal of influence with the Palestinians and the Arab states do as well. Whether the US chooses to use its influence and, if so, how, is the issue. Not that it cannot.
